Board your private vehicle and then drive for approximately 2.5 hours to reach the ancient capital of Hoa Lu. Your guide will provide historical background to help you learn more about part of feudal dynasties and historical periods in Vietnamese history. In old citadel of Hoa Lu, visit 2 temples which were built on the grounds of the old royal palace. One temple is dedicated to King Dinh Tien Hoang and the other to King Le Dai Hanh. Your visit will of Hoa Lu will last about one hour.
In the early afternoon, you will travel to Tam Coc where you will enjoy lunch in a restaurant featuring a local specialty made with goat meat. After lunch, you will take a 5-minute walk to reach the boat dock to begin your 2-hour boat trip on the Ngo Dong River. Known to the locals as "halong Bay on Land," your journey will feature peaceful scenery of limestone mountains, rice paddies and some temples. Along the way, see the local fisherman, visit local villages and explore the three enormous caves, Hang Ca, Hang Hai and Hang Ba featuring with karst formations.
Upon completion of the boat ride, you will return to your vehicle and drive back to Hanoi arriving to your hotel around 6:30pm.
