Day 1: Kuching — Semenggoh — Annah Rais (D)
Meet your private guide upon pickup from your hotel or Kuching International Airport and proceed by minivan to the Semenggoh Wildlife Centre. Drive for 30 minutes until you reach the gateway to the lush tropical forest — inaccessible by car — where you’ll hop out and walk 20 minutes for the final mile.

Established in 1975 to care for injured, orphaned or illegally captured wildlife, the center occupies 1,828 acres (740 hectares) of unspoiled forest in the Semenggoh Nature Reserve and is the only one of its kind in Sarawak. Observe orangutans, bears, hornbills, porcupines, storks, eagles, deer and monkeys that were rescued from captivity, rehabilitated and raised in their natural surroundings to be released later back into wild, and gain insight into the center’s rehabilitation program from your guide.

Afterward, head to Kuching for a unique city tour aboard a surrey — a carriage-style bike with four wheels and a shade cover. On your 2.5-hour tour, see the gigantic cat statues near Jalan Padungan, cruise through Chinatown to Tua Pek Kong Temple, stop at a mosque along the Sarawak River, and see St Joseph Cathedral, the Syariah Court, Satok Market, the old courthouse and traditional Malay houses built on stilts. Across the Sarawak River, view the majestic Astana, a former palace of the second White Rajah. End with a tour of the Sarawak Museum, one of Maylasia’s oldest museums, displaying interesting archaeological and cultural artifacts.

Have lunch at a restaurant recommended by your guide (own expense) before leaving Kuching behind for Annah Rais, a 1-hour drive away. Arrive at the Bidayuh Longhouse, a village in an isolated valley home to around 120 local families. Take a private tour to learn about the history of the village and the life of its inhabitants, and learn how its strategic location kept the villagers safe from Borneo's notorious Murut headhunters. Your host family will prepare a simple, traditional dinner for you to enjoy while learning about their culture, beliefs and customs.

Day 2: Annah Rais — Kuching (B)
Wake up to a home-cooked breakfast prepared by your host family. Then ride your private minivan back to Kuching to conclude your tour. You’ll be dropped off at your hotel or the airport for your onward flight.
