Join this tour and ride in a premium European SUV to visit four of the high end wineries in the Hawkes Bay. This premium tour includes lunch at Blackbarn Bistro. The tour includes a scenic drive around the Tukituki river loop and we will travel up to the top of Te Mata Peak (404 meters above sea level) for a wonderful look over the Hawkes Bay and surrounding region.
You will be met at your accommodation and Elephant Hill Estate will be the first winery we visit for a tasting. Elephant Hill is located just meters from the shore line and the views from the tasting room of the ocean and Cape Kidnappers are magnificent.
From Elephant Hill we drive the rural scenic route around the Tukituki River loop road to Craggy Range Winery. Craggy Range has a superb location at the 'Foot of the Giant', being Te Mata Peak. We taste a broad range of both red and white wines before making our way to nearby Blackbarn Bistro for lunch. Blackbarn also has a range of wines available for tasting. After selecting a glass of wine from the tasting you are seated at your table for a 2 course lunch followed by coffee.
After lunch we carry on to Te Mata Estate. Te Mate Estate is the second oldest winery in New Zealand and is famous for their red wines, in particular the Coleraine, reputedly one of the best red wines in the world. After the tasting we drive up the narrow and winding road to the top of Te Mata Peak. The views are magnificent!
