Explore the peaceful monastic life outside Bucharest and discover some of the most beautiful and important churches and monasteries close to the capital. This one day tour is perfect for those curious to visit religious Orthodox monuments and learn more about their history. Start your tour by leaving your centrally located accommodation and make the first stop in Snagov, one of the most important churches in the country due to its complex medieval paintings. Located on the Snagov Lake, the church was once part of a large monastery. According to the legend, Vlad the Impaler is buried here.

The next stop on your tour will be the monastery of Caldarusani, once an important cultural center of the region. The monastery has a splendid 17th century church and a small museum with old religious objects.
