You will visit 3 incredible places related to the culture of Lycians: ancient cities of Phaselis and Olympos and place hidden in the mountains with the eternal flames of mythological monster Chimera. Private trip for enthusiasts of the history of the ancient world.After leaving the hotel you will be taken to the Kemer region, that hides many secret places located in the mountains with huge historical meaning. Olympos and Phaselis are located 15 km from each other they used to compete as trading ports.
Phaselis was known for roses plantations, that was used by residents for the production of rose perfumes. Olympos, vividly located upon the river and sea became popular for its Temple of Hephaestus - god of fire. Ancients were praying to the Hephaestus, because they believed that eternal fires from nearby stones are a place of living of the Chimera monster. You will visit the remains of Phaselis: huge gate, baths, agora and theater, and in Olympos the ruins of Hephaestus Temple, acropolis. In Olympos you are able to rest in quiet beach – remains of the port. After a while of relax you will have your lunch to recharge your body for a small trekking.
Then when the evening comes some effort will be needed to climb on the mysterious mountain (around 30 min), on which you will see independent fires coming straight from the earth. This is the place where mythological monster Chimera yawning with fire used to live. This incredible place will amaze you with its night atmosphere. You will be back to your hotel around 10 pm.It is an ideal proposition for a day spent in mountains and pine forests, where mysterious ancient cities are hidden.
