Take a walking tour of cultural Bucharest to get the best view of the city's most precious cultural sites, from splendid museums to centuries old churches. A private tour created for travellers looking to know in depth the destination, this option is perfect if you have an interest in art, cultural heritage and religious edifices. The tour includes a visit to the must see open-air Village Museum, the Atheneum and the George Enescu Museum as well as the small Storck Museum and five centuries old centuries. The Village Museum One of the most beautiful cultural attractions in Bucharest, the Village Museum is a vast open-air museum, one of the first in the world of this kind. The museum has hundreds of traditional houses and authentic elements of rural life from all the regions of Romania, and is located in Herastrau, the largest park in Bucharest.

Storck Museum A small and more local attraction, this museum is, nonetheless, one of the most charming in Bucharest. Located in the original house of the Storck family, the museum displays their works of art: the sculptures of Carol Storck and Frederick Stork and the paintings of Cecilia Cutescu-Storck. They were some of the most representative artists of their generations, their creations being fundamental for their time.

The Museum George Enescu A visit at the museum dedicated to the life of George Enescu, Romania's most important musician of all times, is a must for a cultural tour. The museum is located in the splendid Cantacuzino Palace, a majestic monument built by the richest Romanian from the early 20th century.

The Atheneum One of the most famous monuments in the capital, the Atheneum is an impressive construction, 41 meters tall with six 12 meters long columns. The Atheneum survived the bombing of 1944 and the communist censure when its splendid interior frescoes from the main concert hall that recreate in images the history of Romania were covered for decades.

Old Churches Along the itinerary, you'll see some of  the oldest churches in Bucharest: Kretzulescu, Stavropoleos, Coltea, Spiridon, Radu Voda, the Patriarchy. You'll find out interesting facts about their history, state of the art paintings and precious religious objects. As most of them are located in the historical center, you'll also have the chance to see other landmarks like the Revolution and University Squares.
