Easy walk to the Marine Protected Area with the spectacular bay, facing the Faraglioni rocks of Capri. Wonderful sea place, with its clear water, ideal for snorkelling. it is a protected area, with high natural characteristics.Jeranto bay is definitely one of the prettiest spots in the Sorrento peninsula. Located in the municipality of Massa Lubrense is part of the Marine protected area of Punta Campanella. The bay from the late nineteenth century until 1952 was a quarry for the extraction of limestone and in this place, you can trace a journey into the past through the ancient industrial monuments and tools used to extract the limestone to be transported to Naples for the steelworks.

Start from the main square of Nerano (Suburb of Massa Lubrense), follow the road that leads to Marina del Cantone, on the right you find the entrance of the path with a slightly uphill beginning. After few meters you meet the entrance of an house that was inhabited by the English writer Norman Douglas that here found the ispiration for his book: Sirenland. From here you can admire the view of the beach of Marina del Cantone with its cobalt blue sea. The path continue downhill through sections of Mediterranean forest and on the right you have the limestone cliffs of Mount San Costanzo. You will arrive to a junction where you will turn right on the stairs that lead down to the bay. At the fork you choose to proceed to the Montalto tower or advancing to the ancient staircases leading down to the Capitello beach and enjoy the crystal clear water with the beautiful view of Capri and the Faraglioni in front of you. To go back take the trail passing by the FAI estate with its magnificent olive and lemon groves. You will arrive again to the junction at the beginning of the stairs where you will take the same road that reach the main square of Nerano.
