Want to try scuba diving without committing to a multi-day course? Take the plunge with this small-group scuba diving experience in Rhodes. Begin with a safety briefing from a PADI-qualified dive instructor, covering everything from scuba theory to breathing techniques, then cruise from Mandraki Harbour to the crystal clear waters near Kalithea Bay. Enjoy a 30-minute dive, passing undersea caverns and spotting colorful marine life while your instructor keeps close by. Upgrade to include a secondary dive, following a slightly deeper route. Numbers limited to seven people, ensuring a small-group experience.
Begin your scuba diving experience with a pickup from your Rhodes hotel in Ixia or Ialyssos areas, and then travel by air-conditioned vehicle to Mandraki Harbour in Rhodes Town, where you’ll board your diving boat. Settle into a comfortable spot on deck, and then soak up views of the harbor, once the military port of ancient Rhodes, as you head out onto the Aegean Sea.

On board, wrestle into a wet suit and get fitted with the supplied scuba equipment, including a mask, regulator, weights and tank, before receiving a full safety briefing from your PADI-qualified dive instructor. Your briefing covers theory, safety and the practical techniques involved, including how to secure your mask and breathe properly.

After roughly 45 minutes, moor at the dive site just outside Kalithea Bay, a postcard-perfect cove that has long been famed for its therapeutic springs. Then, when you’re ready, dive into the crystal clear water (depths span 6.6 feet to 33 feet), with the rest of your small group and the instructor close at hand.

Begin your descent and be wowed by the sensation of breathing under water. Once you’ve got your bearings, set off behind your instructor, gliding past the underwater caverns and peculiar rock formations for which the area is renowned. Swim among schools of colorful fish, and get up close to Mediterranean sponges, soft corals and sea grass. Your guide will capture your experience on camera and the photos and videos are available for you to purchase after your tour.

Following your roughly 30-minute dive, return to your boat and perhaps recharge with refreshments available on board (own expense). You'll then have several hours of free time to relax on deck and soak up the sun and sights. If you’ve upgraded, you'll also enjoy a second dive later in the day, descending even further into the beautiful waters of Kalithea Bay for roughly 40 minutes.

When the time comes, relax during the journey back to Mandraki Harbour. Your trip then ends with a hotel drop-off.
