Join this day tour visiting the Ribatejo region, the most central Portuguese region.
The tour starts with a hotel pick-up from a list of towns in the areas. Visit Tomar, the City of Magic, rich in architectural remains. The Convent of Christ, erected by the Templar Knights and the synagogue, are two historic landmark buildings in this lovely town. Continue the tour visiting Castelo de Bode that is know for its hydroelectric dam and reservoir.
After lunch we will visit Castelo de Almourol, located on a small rock island in the middle of the river Tejo, and the ancient town of Santarem, a town of great historical meaning and one of the most important centres of the Gothic art in Portugal. Return at 6pm.
After the Castle we will visit the lovely town of Constância, located between the rivers Tejo and Zêzere. Luis de Camões, one of the greatest Portuguese poets, lived there in the XVI century. Lunch in Constância (free time).
