Just opposite Bernini’s famous fountains in Piazza Navona is the Church of Sant’Agnese in Agone. While unassuming from the outside, the tiny church is actually another Piazza Navona jewel, designed by one of the maestros of the baroque period: Francesco Borromini.
Head inside the church with your guide and gaze at the incredible architecture and art that adorns the walls. Take your seat in the Borromini Sacristy and learn about the culture, art and music of baroque Rome before listening to a short concert.
Relax as you listen to a selection of 17th-century music by renowned composers such as Giacomo Carissimi and Monteverdi. Performed by the talented Schola Romana Ensemble, the concert features singing, percussion and guitar music — played on baroque-style instruments.
When the concert ends, continue your tour of the church. Admire the marble sculptures, decorative paintings and frescoes, and learn about some of the more notable features of the church from your guide.
Your tour then concludes inside the church, leaving you free to continue your evening as you wish.
Want to complement your evening concert with dinner? Upgrade to include a 3-course meal at La Scaletta degli Artisti, a nearby classic Roman trattoria. Enjoy a first course of pasta, followed by a main course and homemade dessert. Drinks are available at your own expense.
