Upon arrival at Rottnest, enjoy exploring on your own until it’s time to meet your snorkel tour at 1:45pm or take a complimentary 20-minute guided walking tour around the main settlement of Thomson Bay. If you have chosen the lunch option, head to Rottnest Lodge at the appointed time for a selection of delicious buffet dishes with hot courses, deli items, salads, desserts, and beverages.
When you meet your snorkel guide, you'll receive the requisite gear and a safety briefing before your boat sets off for your 90-minute snorkel cruise at 1:45pm. Zip along the water in your speedy boat. Depending on the day's conditions, your group stops at either Green Island, Salmon Bay, or Catherine Bay where you have about one hour to snorkel along a pristine reef brimming with colorful fish and coral.
The waters around Rottnest Island host more than 20 species of coral and 400 species of fish, including West Australian pearl perch, baldchin groper, harlequin fish, leatherjacket, butterfly fish, moon wrasse, marlin and tuna. You might also spot crustaceans such as the Western rock lobster and blue manna.
After your snorkel tour, return to the main jetty where you have free time to relax on the beach or check out the shops in town before you catch your ferry to return to Fremantle or Perth.
