Set off on a private boat excursion from Salerno to the island of Capri and discover the best that Capri has to offer. Your local captain will take you on a private tour of the grottos, rock formations, beach clubs and more, with free time on the island. Salerno is the perfect base to start this day-trip. If your cruise ship is stopping in Salerno don't miss this rare opportunity to explore the island of Capri on a private speedboat with a local captain. Salerno is an ideal base and considered to be the gateway to the Amalfi Coast so a boat excursion is a fabulous idea if you would like to experience the best of the area in one day.

Meet your captain at the pier in Salerno and cruise across the Gulf, past the thrilling views of the famous Amalfi Coastline and over to Li Galli private islands. If you like history and legends, you may know that Li Galli Islands were the home of the sirens that lured legendary Ulysses when he sailed through on his way to Capri. Stop to admire the beautiful rock formations with three private, luxury villas perched at the top (a favorite for "high profile" people trying to keep a "low-profile" while on vacation). Swim in the underwater nature reserve and brush shoulders with the Mediterranean marine life.

Continue on to Capri where you will get an up-close view of the grottos, rock formations and limestone coastline. Cruise past well-known beach clubs such as "La Fontelina" and Capri Palace's "Il Riccio" and through the hole of Capri's most famous symbol, the Faraglioni rock formations.

Pass Marina Piccola, a favorite docking spot for yachts of the rich and famous. Cruise around the back side where you will see the island's only lighthouse built in 1862, still in operation today. From here keep a lookout for the wild mountain goats that roam the island, if you are lucky they will make an appearance.

If you get hungry the captain will pull the boat up to shore around lunchtime so that you can dine casually harbor-side on fresh, local cuisine.

Enjoy some free time on the island at your leisure before heading back to Salerno at the end of the day.
