Spend a day whale watching and lounging on a postcard-worthy Caribbean beach on this 8-hour tour from Samaná. Start with a 2-hour whale-watching cruise on Samaná Bay, where mighty humpback whales are commonly spotted breaching the surface during mating season. Dock on the jaw-dropping tropical island of Cayo Levantado (also known as Bacardi Island) for a buffet lunch and free time to swim, soak up the sun and cozy up at a beach bar.
After pickup from your Samaná hotel, head to the wharf, where your whale-watching boat awaits to take you out onto Samaná Bay. The warm Caribbean waters here are popular mating grounds for humpback whales and sightings are frequent.

Listen out for the males’ courting song and marvel as these mighty giants breach the water and smash through the waves in their efforts to attract a mate. Have your camera ready, as these graceful giants could surface at any moment!

After your 2-hour whale-watching cruise, make your way toward the white sands and azure-blue waters of Cayo Levantado, nicknamed Bacardi Island. Here you'll be treated to a buffet lunch on the pristine, picture-perfect beach (see sample menu below).

Soak up the seascape from the shade of a palm tree, take a dip in the crystal-clear waters, or spread out on the sand or a lounge chair to work on your tan. If you get thirsty, you can grab a cool drink from the local beach bar.

After two hours of relaxing Caribbean-style, cruise back to the Samaná wharf, where a car will be waiting to whisk you back to your hotel.
