Explore the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Palace of Versailles and Gardens of Versailles on a half-day tour. Your expert guide will bring French history back to life as you walk through the Palace of Versailles, where King Louis XIV officially settled his court and government in 1682. Soak in the palace’s Baroque architecture, admire the rooms full of art and see how some of the most infamous members of nobility really lived. Start your half-day Palace of Versailles (Chateau de Versailles) tour with a walk through the magnificent Gardens of Versailles (Jardins de Versailles), which contain about 210,000 flowers that are planted annually within the gardens’ 1,980 acres (800 hectares). During the summer your knowledgeable guide will tell you about the development of the gardens, which are one of the most-visited attractions in France. In winter, you are free to explore the gardens at your own pace, without a guided tour.

Next, bypass the queues with your skip-the-line admission into the palace! Enjoy a guided tour through the Palace of Versailles, where you’ll learn about the palace’s history, including its function as the center of political power in France from 1682 to 1789. Explore the palace’s unique interior rooms, including the King’s and the Queen’s State Apartments, the Royal Chapel and the Hall of Mirrors, which served as a passageway and meeting place.

Choose to visit Versailles on a Tuesday, Saturday or Sunday during the summer (April to October) and your ticket will also include entrance to the musical gardens (Tuesday) or musical fountain shows (Saturday and Sunday). Take some extra time after your half-day guided tour to watch the wonderful fountain displays set to classical music and discover the gardens at your own pace.

For a more intimate tour of Versailles, upgrade to the small-group tour. This option is limited to just 10 people, meaning you’ll receive personal attention from your professional guide so you can make the most of your time at Versailles.
