Explore two of the major highlights of Provence, Avignon and the Pont du Gard. Taste some of the arguably most favored wines in the world with your small-group of no more than 4. Drive along the landscapes that inspired the great Van Gogh himself, all the while in the company of your English-speaking guide.Begin your day by meeting your professional guide, as well as your group, at the predetermined location. Board the air-conditioned minivan and make your way to the historic center of Avignon. This walled town has managed to keep an incredible heritage throughout the centuries, including preserving the Pope's Palace and the local centuries old bridge. Next, take a tour of Chateauneuf du Pape, home to 18 varieties of grapes including Cinsaut and Grenache noir. There, you will also participate in a wine tasting of said wines.
On a terrace looking over the stunning view of the vineyards and city of Avignon, you will enjoy your break for lunch at Le Verger des Papes. After you have finished eating, move on to do some sightseeing in the Alpilles National Park. Then, walk along the ancient medieval streets of Les Baux de Provence and discover its underground passages. Next, take a guided tour of the Pont du Gard before moving on to a tour of a traditional soap factory, Marius Fabre. Conclude the tour at 6:00pm when you are dropped off at your original departure point.
