After you arrive, your guide will help you get fitted with all the necessary equipment, including wetsuits, booties, hoodies, gloves, life jackets, mask and tuba. Then, climb into a minibus and head to the starting point, about a 30 minute drive.

Once near Matapedia River, your guide will teach you the proper snorkeling techniques. This personal tour is adapted to your preferences. Those who are more adventurous might want to play in the rapids to gain a greater understanding of the dynamics of river currents.

After a few hours in the water, your guide will give you a briefing on the techniques needed to steer your boat down the river so you can get the best experience possible. As you paddle downstream, take a trail to hike to a waterfall. To make sure you don’t run out of energy, snacks are prepared by your guide and available throughout the trip. When you stop for lunch, you’ll be surprised at the preparation taken in selecting local and healthy products. Pasta salads, cheese, vegetables with dips, smoke salmon, wraps—name it and your guides will make it possible.

Snorkel bellow the waterfall to see what it looks underwater. After a nice lunch on the side of the fall, hike back to your canoe or kayak and start paddling downstream for about 10 km. Once you reach the end point, climb aboard the minibus for a short trip back.
