Dress up warm and make your own way to the tour starting point in central Luosto to meet your friendly guide. Then, listen to a safety briefing and get instructions on riding your 2-person snowmobile.
Pull on your supplied helmet and, once you feel comfortable, rev your engine and set off behind your guide along groomed tracks. Speed through snow-laden woods and take in the crisp winter air and frozen landscapes around you. Along the way, you’re free to swap places with your passenger as you wish.
After roughly an hour, pull up at a reindeer farm and meet a group of these beautiful animals that have been specially trained to pull sleighs. Chat to the traditionally costumed herders and discover how reindeer have been used to help transport goods in Lapland for centuries, thanks to their strength and sharp hooves, which are perfect for walking on snow.
Watch as a herder demonstrates how to drive a reindeer team, and then board your sleigh. Snuggle up in the cozy sleigh and appreciate the scenery as you swish along snow-laden trails. As you weave between the trees, the only sound is the whisper of your sleigh runners and crunch of reindeer hooves in the snow, making the experience feel truly magical!
