Start off your day meeting your chauffeur/guide (your spirit and brew buddy for the day) at the base of the historic Calgary Tower in the downtown core. After some "informal" introductions and instructions you will be whisked away to your first stop, the pioneer of the craft beer, Big Rock Brewery. Experience their unique success story which has led them to expand distribution on a national and international basis. After your tour and tasting, enjoy a quick stop in their swag and brew shop.
Continue your journey traveling south out of Calgary to Okotoks. Witness the landscapes of the valleys, rolling hills, and farm land before arriving at your next location, Chinook Arc Meadery or Chinook Honey Company. That's right honey! Learn the ins and outs of running a bee farm, how mead is processed and of course the tastings. Before leaving Okotoks, stop to pay homage to Big Rock Breweries inspirational glacial phenomenon, the Okotoks Erratic or "The Big Rock".
Venture deeper into the mountains within the foothills, where you'll arrive at your last stop, Eau Claire Distillery. Located in the charming town of Turner Valley, this is a very unique building that was once a movie theater is now home to the distillery. Hear their fascinating story, take a tour of the distillery, taste their staple and seasonal spirits, and enjoy your choice of a specialty drink.
As you head back to Calgary, take a lazy drive along the famous Cowboy Trail while enjoying the scenic views of the rolling hills nestled against the Rocky mountains. From mountains and soon to be Calgary city views, the scheduled drop-off stop is the Calgary Tower, however if you have somewhere on the way just ask your chauffeur guide and inquire.
