Make your own way to Sapphire Beach Resort Marina on St Thomas in the morning and board your spacious, 65-foot (20m) sloop, a single-mast sail ship with two sails.
Then, feel the breeze in your hair and enjoy a complimentary muffin as you cruise out into Red Hook Bay toward St John. Another island in the Virgin Islands chain, much of St John, including its seas and coral reefs, is part of the protected Virgin Islands National Park.
During the morning, your captain will drop anchor at a white-sand islet surrounded by some of St John’s most beautiful, protected reefs. After a safety briefing, don your supplied snorkeling gear and hit the waters to explore. Swim through crystal waters teeming with fish such as angelfish and sergeant majors, and drift over coral reefs dotted with delicate elkhorn and fan corals. As you snorkel, stay on the lookout for passing sea turtles and rays, too.

Following lunch, hoist anchor and head for your second snorkel stop near another idyllic cay. Grab your snorkel, fins and facemask again, and waft around coral gardens swarming with rainbow-colored fish and other marine creatures.
Afterward, kick back on board, perhaps sunbathing or enjoying a complimentary fruit cocktail. Then, if you wish, enjoy one last underwater foray before you cruise back to St Thomas. Your trip ends when your sail ship docks back at the marina.
