Visiting French Polynesia in August? Take a taxi boat from Teahupoo Marina to the Teahupoo break to see the world’s best surfers compete at the Tahiti Billabong Pro. You'll witness the best surfers in the world surfing the best waves in the world and you can be part of the show. Your experienced captain will drive you right in the middle of the action! You have the choicee to view the action from the rooftop of the boat for the best guaranteed view, or to catch the action from inside the boat. Spaces are limited so book early to avoid disappointment. Your taxi boat departs and returns to the Teahupo'o Marina, located approximately 45 miles (75 km) from Papeete. You will need to make your own way to the marina to join the tour by hiring a car or renting a taxi (at own expense).

Starting at the marina of Teahupoo board your taxi boat. Once on board and after a 2 minute ride, you will witness one of the biggest events in French Polynesia. In the middle of hundreds of boats, your experienced captain will drive you the closest to the wave so you can watch the show without any obstacle in front of you.
From your slected position either on the roof or inside the boat you will be part of the show and you will be able to watch the best surfers in the world surfing the best waves in the world. You'll be amongst photographers, cameramen and world surfing champions in the middle of the action.
This is a must do if you are in Tahiti, even if you are not a surfer!
Please note: The competition will be held from August 19 to 30, 2016. This includes a waiting period in case the waves conditions are poor. If the conditions are good, the competition could be completed prior to August 30, however in the days after the competition is completion there are always great viewing opportuities as the world's top professional surfers can still be spotted training on the Teahupoo waves.
The district of Teahupoo and its marina is world known thanks to its famous reef break and it is the location for the Billabong Pro Tahiti, the world-famous international surfing contest.
