Board the Tequila Express, a traditional Mexican train and one of the country’s only passenger trains still remaining in operation. With your guide and small group, settle in for the journey to the town of Amatitan. Located in the state of Jalisco, it's the only region in the country where tequila production is allowed.

During the approximate 1.5-hour train ride, pass scenic rural landscapes and gaze out your train window at a field full of agaves. Upon arrival in Jalisco, transfer by coach to one of the most famous tequila distilleries in the world. Depending on the day, you may visit Casa Herradura, Casa Jose Cuervo or Casa Cofradia.
Enjoy a small-group tour through the distillery as well as the Tequila Museum, where you’ll learn about past and present-day tequila production techniques from your guide. Hear about the indigenous people who invented the fermented agave drink and the Spanish who distilled the beverage into the tequila known today.
In the afternoon, enjoy a Mexican buffet lunch featuring regional dishes, accompanied by some tequila tasting. Complete your cultural tour with a folkloric show featuring Mexican mariachi music and dancing! Your guide will accompany your small group back to Guadalajara by rail and transport you back to your hotel around 6:30pm.
