Tour of Ljubljana: Lake Bled and Slovenia's Capital

Hidden in the mountains of Slovenia is Bled, one of Europe most beautiful and most celebrated lakes. This lake surrounds Bled Island, which is situated in the astonishing Alpine peaks. Enjoy the view from the castles on Bled Island, located in the mid­dle of the lake. Get to know Ljubl­jana, the cap­i­tal of Slove­nia and a true Baroque gem with its own unique charm.The tour begins with a drive to the charm­ing lake resort of Bled, famous for its medieval cas­tle on a cliff high above the lake and the amaz­ing Alpine peaks that surround it. Cas­tle ter­races offer spec­tac­u­lar views of the lake and the tiny island it's planted on. Later on, we will take a break to taste one of the most famous Sloven­ian desserts, "kremšnita," the deli­cious vanilla cus­tard and cream cake.

After enjoy­ing the lake's beau­ti­ful nature, we’ll head to Slovenia’s cap­i­tal city, Ljubl­jana. The tour starts in front of the Town Hall and continues through the his­tor­i­cal city cen­ter. Admire its mix­ture of Baroque and Art Nou­veau archi­tec­ture and mas­ter­ful cre­ations by the 20th cen­tury archi­tect Jože Plečnik. The excur­sion includes a stroll around the medieval Old Town, vis­it­ing the New and Old Mar­kets, the Triple Bridge and the Dragon Bridge, Ljubljana’s trade­mark. The tour ends with a funic­u­lar ride, which departs from the Krekov square and goes up to the Ljubl­jana Cas­tle. Enjoy one final view of the city set along the banks of the emer­ald green river Ljubl­jan­ica. Have lunch (not included) at a tra­di­tional Sloven­ian restau­rant to taste some of the exquis­ite local meals.
