Excursion in the Otranto-Leuca Natural Park: breathtaking scenery in expressionistic trails, canyons, prehistoric caves and hidden coves. With this tour we will discover the Otranto-Santa Maria di Leuca and Tricase Forest Coastal Natural Park, exploring the Canyon of Ciolo and the Cipolliane Caves.

We will observe the deep blue sea that blends with white stone and is lost among the ravines of hidden coves. This tour will start exploring the Canyon of Ciolo, excavated in an ancient petrified coral reef, in whose belly winding nature trails that will reveal prehystoric caves where the Peregrine Falcon launches into his dizzying dives. Here, in particular, we can observe unique species of flora of this part of the coast.

We will continue the journey along the trekking trail Le Cipolliane, continuing the spectacular scenic hiking on the park's southern coast. rocky slopes characterize the downstream side of this path together with a typical Mediterranean vegetation. We will discover the network of dry stone walls and mantagnate bordering the beautiful landscape of coastal terraces, with this breathtaking rural landscape, where they stand out clear signs of a fine architecture to the limits of the extreme, with dry elements built on steep cliff where tiny vegetable gardens, terraces with wine grapes fields and Fico d’India fruits have now given way the wild nature. We'll get to

The Cipollinae Caves, ancient sea caves that were inhabited by prehistoric humans. Here we will stop in front of this breathtaking view directly on a natural terrace formed in the cliffs overlooking the sea. We will practice birdwatching waiting to see the peregrine falcon in our binoculars.

Completed our exploration we return back along the coast road to the bridge of Ciolo where we can rest eating home-made ice cream and maybe tasting a typical Salento aperitif before saying goodbye.
