Private Shore excursion from Livorno port with a visit to an estate near San Gimignano where you have the opportunity to hunt truffle and taste local wines and truffle scented dishes.You will be met by the ship at 8am and then head to the Guicciardini Strozzi estate near San Gimignano, one of the oldest and richest in history in the Chianti wine district.
To get there, you will be driven through the beautiful Tuscany's countryside. On the way we can stop to take pictures too. We will arrive at the estate about 10:00 and we will start the hunt. It is recommended to wear comfortable clothes, the estate can provide you with rubber boots. The hunt will be lead by a member of the Guicciardini-Strozzi family who will give you interesting information about truffle and the territory and will recount you the history of the family and the estate as well.
The hunt will last about 4 hours, at the end you will visit the cellar and taste local wine, among them the famous Vernaccia di San Gimignano. As an option at an extra price, you can taste the truffles found, or have a proper meal with dishes scented with truffle. At the end we we can visit San Gimignano, a beautiful village near the estate, very rich in art and history. We will than go back at the ship, about 1.5 hours traveling time.
