Funasaka Sake Brewery is one of the historical breweries in Takayama that has been making sake for more than 200 years. Their sake brewing process is following the traditional techniques which they have been keeping for long time. First, your guide will take you to the brewery and explain the delicate process of sake brewing. Winter is one of the best seasons to visit a sake brewery, because this is the time of the year when they start making their new sake from the rice that is newly harvested in the fall. Learn the best way to appreciate sake before you enjoy the sake tasting.

After visiting the sake brewery, you will experience sake kasu soap making! Sake kasu is the lees residue from sake production.
