You’ll be picked up from your hotel at 5:30am, driving southwest from Guatemala City. Enjoy breakfast en route to Retalhuleu – 28 miles (45 km) from Lake Atitlan – and pass through the towns of Amatitlán, Escuintla and Mazatenango until you arrive at Xocomil Water Park around 9:30am. With your entry pass, you will have approximately six hours to spend at the theme park.

The biggest water park of Guatemala, Xocomil is also the country’s most visited and most comprehensive. Designed around a Mayan pyramid, this fantastic amusement park features seven types of water rides plus five different high-speed slides – including the 485-foot (148-meter) Rapidos de Xocomil, which will thrill you to the core.

Other attractions include El Caracol (The Spiral), which takes riders through a dark tunnel that propels them into a big funnel, and Nido de Serpientes (Nest of Serpents), with seven different courses of twisting chutes.

Enjoy a full day of fun for the entire family, visiting four different swimming pools, including one for children and one for adults, as well as two pools with waves and a beach-designated rest area. For a great way to get around the park, head down a flowing river while floating on a tube. Along the way, you’ll see items like Mayan masks and other pieces that represent Guatemala’s Mayan heritage.

Depart from Xetulul Water Park at 3:30pm and board your vehicle for a relaxing and stress-free ride back to your Guatemala City hotel.
