Meet your guide in the morning near the centrally located York Minster to depart for your day trip to the North York Moors and Whitby. Prepare to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city to explore the scenic and picturesque North York Moors National Park and the fishing port of Whitby.

Travel to the Vale of York to the famous Kilburn White Horse, on the boundary of the North York Moors National Park, to take photos and learn about its history before heading for Helmsley. The tour stops in the picturesque market town of Helmsley for 45 minutes where you can view the medieval castle, explore the quaint shops or just have a leisurely Yorkshire Brew (own expense).

Next you will travel to the seaside town of Whitby, where you will hear stories about the seaside town's history and your guide will point out the main places of interest that you may want to visit.

You will have 3 hours free time in Whitby. You may choose to visit Whitby Abbey (inspiration for the Dracula books) or the Captain Cook Museum, enjoy the Beach, Waterfront and Fishing Port, shop for some Whitby Jet or Gothic Fashion or just sample the famous Fish 'n' Chips at the Magpie Cafe (own expense).

Continue to Goathland by road, to explore the fictional village of Aidensfield in the Heartbeat television series and see Goathland Station, the filming location for Hogsmeade Station in the Harry Potter movies.

You will arrive back at the meeting point in York at approximately 5:45pm but should not book onward travel too close to the arrival time in case of traffic problems.

Day 2:
The following morning, meet your guide near York Minster and head off to the Yorkshire Dales National Park. After a picture stop overlooking Wensleydale to learn about it's most famous landmark, the 14th century Bolton Castle which once housed Mary Queen of Scots, you will arrive at Aysgarth Falls, where you will have the options to either walk along the three major falls to see the filming location for "Robin Hood - Prince of Thieves", or just have a leisurely Yorkshire Brew and enjoy the views (own expense).

You follow the scenic route to Hawes where you will have one and 1,5 hours in the highest Market Town in England, where you can see how cheese is made at the world famous Wensleydale Creamery, visit the Dales Countryside Museum or just explore the quaint shops and cafes of the town itself (own expense).

After Hawes you will head into the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park arriving at the conservation village of Arncliffe where you will see the famous Falcon Inn, the original "Woolpack" in the "Emmerdale" TV Series. Take part in a walking tour in the village or enjoy refreshments in the Falcon Inn (own expense).
