ZooParc de Beauva is listed among the 10 most beautiful zoos in the world. Home to 8,000 animals belonging to 600 different species, Beauval covers an area of about 30 hectares and houses the largest collection of animals in France. It takes a couple of days to discover all of Beauval’s extraordinary animals, including white tigers, white lions, manatees, and okapis. Some of the species housed at Beauval are found nowhere else in France, such as the koalas, tree-kangaroos, and giant pandas.

ZooParc de Beauva is listed among the 10 most beautiful zoos in the world. In 2012 a nationally important event took place when two giant pandas arrived at Beauval, becoming the only giant pandas in France. The giant panda is classed as a Chinese ‘National Treasure’ and has only been entrusted to 19 zoological parks outside of China. Diplomatic discussions at the highest level as well as the agreement of the Chinese President allowed the arrival of Huan Huan and Yuan Zi at Beauval, as part of a conservation and research programme.
Shows take place from March to September. Two amphitheaters host 'Les Maîtres des Airs', an amazing birds show, and 'L’Odyssée des lions de mer', with agile sea lions.
The Hippopotamus:
In 2016, the ZooParc will grow larger yet again as it unveils an exhibit, the design and size of which is unique. Hippopotamus will be presented at Beauval for the first time in a truly vast enclosure. The hippo enclosure will include a pool, beach, river and a waterfall to suit their semi-aquatic way of life. A lagoon populated by aquatic plants and fish will top off this exceptional exhibit.
